The Green River Valley Amateur Radio Society was organized in August of
1995. The organization was formed not only to promote amateur radio in the
Quad Cities and surrounding area of Illinois and Iowa but to provide a forum
for active amateurs to mentor and help other amateurs improve their skills.
Our members are active in several areas; contesting, DX'ing, designing and
building, low power (QRP) operation, VHF and UHF operating, county hunting
and other related activities. Our club members possess a broad set of skills
and are willing to share those skills with other interested amateur radio
operators, or persons interested in joining the hobby. Also as an affiliated
American Radio Relay League radio club we coordinate and provide amateur
radio license testing on a regularly scheduled basis.
Club meeting dates and location information, VE testing information and an
e-mail link for further information are contained elsewhere in this site.
Please feel free to join us at one of our meetings, we'd enjoy meeting you
and introducing ourselves to you.
