Hi everyone. I read the letter from Drew and Isabel with great interest as my husband is directly related. His great great great grandfather was Andrew Forret (2), the one born in 1817 and lived to 1919 (101 1/2 yrs!!) His son, William Forret born in Ceres 1852 was a stone mason. He married Susan McGregor in Longforgan and had 5 children.. Margaret,Andrew,Jemima (my husband's great grandmother),and twins Ann and William.
Ann moved to S.Africa. I THINK her married name was Jamie. I was wondering if any of your S.African Forrets would know about her?
Our William Forret left his wife and 5 children in Scotland to make a new life in Canada. He remarried and had another 5 children.
Jemima emigrated with 3 of her children in 1920. My husband's grandmother Eunice was her daughter. She is still living at 93 yrs old!.
